The Beta Group was established in 1997 by founders Murray White and John Laughlin. We have since participated in over 6,000 projects and have expanded from three employees to 38 serving Louisiana and Mississippi. Our office locations expanded from our main office in Gretna, Louisiana to a satellite office in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. Following Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, we adapted our services to meet the needs of post-Katrina clean up and rebuilding.

The Beta Group (TBG) is an engineering and construction services firm, specializing in geotechnical and forensic engineering, construction materials testing, construction project management and light construction activities.  TBG is a regional leader in engineering, construction materials testing and construction services with two offices in Louisiana and 38 employees.  Since forming in 1997 TBG has serviced over 6,000 projects and hundreds of clients.  Our clients are from the private sector, industrial and local, state and Federal governments.  Over the past three decades whether the projects were large or small TBG has provided the resources and solutions to our clients while gaining a reputation of professionalism and providing quality work.

We are accredited by the AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL) and validated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Our engineers, inspectors and technicians are certified by one or more of the following certification bodies: Louisiana Department of Transportation (LADOT), American Concrete Institute (ACI), National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), International Code Council (ICC), American Welding Society (AWS), FACE, National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) and Troxler. TBG successfully completed the 8(a) program recognized by the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) and a disadvantaged business entity (DBE) by various local, state and federal agencies.
