Rehabilitation of North Airfield Pavements and EMAS Beds, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, FL

This project includes the expansion and elevation of an existing runway to an overall length of 8,000 feet and width of 150 feet, constructing a new 75-foot wide full-length, parallel taxiway; various cross- field taxiways; an instrument landing system; and a new aircraft staging and hold pad. Included also are multiple bridges to support the runway and parallel taxiway over Route U.S. 1, the Florida East Coast Railroad, the airport perimeter road, and associated airport access ramps.

Scope of Work: The Beta Group {TBG} preformed various construction materials testing & inspections, and provided an on-site, CMEC accredited laboratory.

Relevant Testing: Concrete Testing, Concrete Coring, Aggregate Gradations all for FAA P-501 Pavement Reconstruction
